Franco Vattolo designed this dining table for Ibisco in the 1970s, built on a simple idea: stitch leather the way a tailor would, then stretch that same craft over a tabletop. The result reads more like an object of upholstery than woodworking — a patchwork of leather panels, seamed and fitted by hand, set atop a solid wood frame with the quiet heft of real Italian casework.
Seats four comfortably, with the kind of tactile, lived-in warmth that veneer and laminate can't fake. The patchwork grain shifts panel to panel, so no two tables — or two sides of this one — read quite the same.
Excellent vintage condition throughout. One available. Designed by Franco Vattolo for Ibisco. Made in Italy, 1970s.
